This month has been a time for coming up with ambitious goals, new ideas, and different ways to engage our community. At PILT, we have been working on our fall projects. Josephine and her father have been doing a project involving PATH by supplying computers for their clients which will allow them to find jobs, education, and provide access to online information and services. Arturo finished his first project by doing a bake sale at AEACMS, buying items that YMCA HOY desperately needed, and donating those items to them. Sophie is planning a drive for StandUp for Kids at Helix Charter High School, Lilia is thinking of involving the Origami Club at Mission Bay High School to donate origami to an organization, Anya is planning a fundraiser at East Village Middle College High School to support YMCA TAY, and Genesis is organizing a lunch service at PATH with students from Our Lady of Peace Academy. Arturo is in the process of having a pizza sale at AEACMS to supply clothes for Sharia’s Closet. Minori and Josephine are teaming up to present to first graders at Albert Einstein Academy Charter Elementary School about the importance of supporting one’s community. The team at San Diego High School is still in the process of getting Community Outreach Club approved and are starting their first fundraiser to support StandUp for Kids.
One of the most exciting achievements of September was the new addition to the team! Esli and Margaret, from San Diego High School, and Eden and Emeli, from Albert Einstein Academy Charter Middle School became members just a few weeks ago, making a great addition to PILT. We’re so excited to see the difference we can make with the help of four new, wonderful members. Welcome! Margaret and Esli will also be part of the Community Outreach Club at SDHS, and Eden and Emeli will support Arturo at AEACMS. This makes Arturo the official team lead at AEACMS!
Regarding our social media, we had posts on our FaceBook, X, and Instagram accounts thanking PATH for the wonderful dinner service we had and congratulating Arturo on his fall project. We would very much appreciate and encourage liking and loving our posts! Almost every member’s bios are on the website, except for our newly joined members, so check them out to see PILT’s new team! Anya has been making changes to the website regularly, so take a look at our 2024–2025 calendar and read our monthly blogs to see what we’ve been doing and the difference we’re planning to make!
Thank you!
